TEACHING

Query Productions was especially fortunate to have had several young aspiring filmmakers join us on set and we absolutely loved providing a space for them to learn and observe. A special thanks to Emily, Justin, Kylee, and Logan for being a part of the Cold Cross journey.

TESTIMONIALS

Jacob Stieneker on the set of Cold Cross.

“I’ve been a big fan of the wild west ever since I was a young boy watching western films while sitting on my grandfather’s lap. To help write, produce, score and star in a feature length Neo-Western has been a dream come true. I will say, the experience was not for the faint of heart, however it instilled creativity, problem solving skills and a work ethic I didn’t know I had prior. Everyday on set was a new challenge that transformed into a significant reward. After 2 years of pandemic mania, hard work and laughter, it is serendipitous to see it all come together! The cast and crew were amazing to work with and director Dylan Query had a clear vision that helped us push forward smoothly through anything that came our way. I really hope you enjoy this Indiana grass roots production as it is something I will always be proud of and we're blessed to be able to share it with you.” - Jacob Stieneker

I am so proud of Query Productions for using the local talent and i’m beyond thankful that they gave me the opportunity to be a part of something so amazing. I really appreciate the encouragement i got from the cast and crew and the wonderful lessons and tips they taught me. The atmosphere was always so friendly, inviting, patient and yet still professional. At the end of the day, Query Productions made everyone feel like family. - Hannah Wilkison

“Working on the set of Cold Cross was an absolute blast. I was born and raised in central Indiana and never had any intentions on moving far away to sleep on couches and hope for a chance to be a coffee getter for a movie set after years of trying. I wanted to work professionally in video and create beautiful magic that tells a story on screen and we got to do that in our backyard. The production days of Cold Cross may have been just as long as Hollywood set days, if not longer sometimes, but we always had fun, challenged ourselves and each other to be better and created something special. Considering this being a “no budget” film by Hollywood standards and produced by a crew that wouldn’t even make up a ‘leg’ of a Hollywood skeleton crew, it is amazing to see what we were able to create from start to finish. Anyone can achieve whatever creative dream they have, they just need to push hard, make some friends, and go do it.” - Ryan McClain

Working with Dylan, Madeline, Jake, and the rest of the team made working on the set a relaxing atmosphere while still getting the job done. Dylan allows actors to mold their characters in any way they see fit, and that is rare to find in a lot of directors. Dylan and his team, while maintaining a set of professionalism, allowed some goofiness to go on, which you need to reduce stress and tensions. I have made several friends from this work and I hope to do many more with them. - Jaye Jameson

CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT

Artwork for the video game 'Red Dead Redemption' featuring a man aiming a gun, with a red background and silhouettes of people.

We were endorsed by Mr. Rob Wiethoff who plays main character John Marston in the most popular wild western video game series in the world, Red Dead Redemption! Rob, a fellow Hoosier, was a huge inspiration to us during our writing process and we can’t thank him enough for his support!

ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

Silhouette of a scarecrow wearing a hat, standing against a sunset sky with trees in the background, with the text "Cold Cross Original Soundtrack" in the bottom left corner.

If visuals are the face of the film, then music is the heart; Pumping life and emotion into what we’re experiencing on screen. In addition to the enormous talent on screen, we’re proud to have partnered with The Peaky Shiners band to help produce an all-original soundtrack for Cold Cross. Members include Jacob Stieneker, Justin Stieneker & Josh Stieneker.

PRIVATE SCREENINGS

To say Cold Cross was a success is a complete understatement. The week of the private screenings really put the amount of support we had into perspective. From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you to each and every person who believed in us and supported us along the way.

Cold Cross would not exist without you.

I also think our success is a testament to the amount of creative potential that exists in Indiana. Although untapped, I hope to continuously improve in my craft as well as help fellow filmmakers and creatives in the midwest. I used to consider myself a loner but I’m so glad I grew out of that and brought in so many talented individuals into the production and world of Cold Cross. It truly amplified the entire experience to a level I never thought possible in Indiana. I’m glad I was wrong about that. It’s taught me a truly valuable lesson…

EVERYONE has creative potential, even if the industry doesn’t reflect that in your area of residence.
